About
- ChezyCode is a virtual Hackathon hosted by Team 254
- Similar to most Hackathons, teams will receive a theme and will have a limited amount of time to produce a coding-related solution that addresses the theme
- After creating a product, teams will present their solutions to experienced judges and receive live feedback
- This challenge will be a broad idea that the project must be related to
When
- Announcement
- January 29th Weekend
- Opening Ceremony
- January 29th, 5:00 - 6:00 PM PST
- Discuss theme of Hackathon, logistics, judging, and hold an open space for questions
- Working Time
- 6:00 PM PST on Friday (January 29th) to 9:00 AM PST on Sunday (January 31st)
- Hard deadline at 9:00 AM PST
- Submissions: Submit link to GitHub repository and creation walkthrough (screen recording)
- Judging
- 10:00 AM - 3 PM PST on Sunday (January 31st)
- 10 minute presentations with 5 minute breaks (4 per hour, three judging rooms of two judges each, 48 teams judged)
- One hour break from 11:55 to 12:55
- Closing Ceremony
- 5:00 - 6:00 PM PST on Sunday (January 31st)
- Announce winners, thank judges, and talk about further steps
Where
- Takes place on MS Teams
- Link to join will be provided once applied and accepted
- Opening and closing ceremonies in live, general room
- Individual judging ceremonies in individual channels (within the team)
Eligibility
- Team size of 5 pre-college students
- More than 5 people interested? Register multiple teams
- Teams need at least 1 student to attend judging presentation
- Mentors may not create projects or write code, but mentors may help other teams
Judging
- 3 rooms each with 2 professional adult mentors
- Each room has much experience in the software industry
- Specific judging criteria will be presented during the opening ceremonies
Awards
- For top 3 of the 48 (or less teams), $100, $75, $50, as well as social media shout outs
- Shout outs for most impactful, and best use of code
